Do you know who Mike Waltz is?
How about Julia Nesheiwat?
First of all, these two are married.
This American couple may have more impact to Alberta than anyone you know.
.
Just like that, Donald Trump is making a comeback.
Whether you hate him or like him, it doesn't matter anymore.
I get it, he is a controversial figure.
Anyone who has invested for a long time knows how much emotions impact the overall return of one's portfolio.
Right now, all it matters is to keep our emotions aside and look ahead of what's to come.
Trump 2.0 is coming soon to a TV, social media, near you.
If Trump 1.0 is any indication, expect Trump 2.0 to be even more dramatic.
Last week, I gave a webinar on "How the next US president impacts your portfolio".
We went through the various proposed policies and how it could impact investors in stocks and real estate.
During the webinar, I announced I will be launching another newsletter soon along with a companion Facebook group called "7 to 8 Figure Real Estate Investors with Eric Chang".
The newsletter and Facebook Group will be focused on sharing my experiences of over 15 years building multiple 8 figure portfolios: portfolio scaling strategies, systems and processes, proper risk management, understanding of the macro economy, etc.
You can join the group here:

Last week's webinar recording will also be shared there in few days.
.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Donald Trump intends to appoint Mike Waltz to serve as his national security advisor.
He has shared some strong opinions about the Trudeau government. You can read all about it on CBC:

What makes Mr. Waltz's appointment important to Alberta real estate investors?
His wife - Julia Nesheiwat
Take a look at her profile featured on TC Energy's website:
She joined TC Energy back in 2022. If you aren't familiar with TC Energy, it was previously called "TransCanada".
If that still didn't ring a bell, TransCanada was behind the massive pipeline project:
Keystone Pipeline.
Just when most people thought that was so "2005", it's because it is.
The project was that old.
And as of last week, there's no sign of life.
Until now.
Imagine you have a direct access to Trump's ears through Mr. Waltz.
TC Energy now has an "in" to the inner circle.
Only time will tell what happens from here.
.
Trump might be one of the most powerful Presidents in recent history.
Republicans are 3 seats away from controlling the House of Representatives.
Republicans have won the Senate, have majority control on the Supreme Court, and if they also control the House, anything can happen in the coming years.
One thing for sure we know is that Trump and the Republicans are pro-Oil.
If you have been following my newsletter for a while, you know how the boom we have experienced in Alberta so far has very little to do with the oil and gas economy.
It's soon about to change.
Whether you like Trump or hate him, as an investor, you have to "skate to where the puck is going to be".
Step aside Ottawa, it's Alberta's turn.
If you like my work, I invite you to share it with others.
Happy investing,
Eric Chang
